A week ago, I woke to a message from my now-friend Andrea at Superfine Bakery in L.A. She had seen one of our vintage tea, cake, cupcake display stands on a blog & wanted to drop a sweet note. Only thing was, it wasn’t just any blog; it was Mr. Preston Bailey’s Entertaining blog. Yes, we were thrilled! That’s a given, right?
Two of our stands flew out of the etsy shoppe that day, before I could even add them here on Orange & Blossom. It’s been a whirlwind ever since.
We do have a new tea stand on etsy (and more to come there & on this site, too), which actually has hints of colors found on Andrea’s glamorous Petite Regal cake above. Can you believe the detail?!? The gold circles, the gilt damask, not to mention that clever stand it’s sitting in… Stunning for a plum/eggplant winter wedding.
But… I will tell you all about Superfine Bakery’s super yummy things next week. Including delicious edible wedding favors that have nothing to do with cake at all. Happy Friday! May something good happen for you!

Also available in clear & amber glass, we like these cobalt blue glass vases handstrung on wire by Laura of the koniver shop on etsy.
Group these long, color-saturated strands of blue bottle garland together & string them up anywhere you please.
Float them over tables, along fences, in trees, around a gazebo, in windows, across a mantle, in doorways…
Add strings of garden lights alongside them & watch them glow from within like only blue glass can. Just $14 for a string of 3.
Looking for more cobalt blue? Check our sculpted wedding “vase” cones for DIY flower arragements.
Hang them down the wedding aisle, on church pews, or to mark chairs for the bride & groom or special guests.
We make them in smaller sizes for a custom alternative to the flower girl basket, too.

With vintage European china very much on the brain lately, these are high on my wish list for our kitchen wall. I’m trying to decide between “love” and “live,” which both have an equally inspiring message to me.
For weddings though, how cute would these be hanging on a wall or a fence at the reception? Okay, that’s assuming your event is somewhere that would allow you to hang these in some way. But you could also display them on stands along a table before you hang them up back at home.
Your names with an ampresand in between, or “us forever,” perhaps? I’m melting! Custom lettered plates in floral designs by The Salvaged Tea Party.

Speaking of stands, wouldn’t these be a rustic wedding centerpiece? I see fruit & flowers dripping in towers… The descriptive text from Sundance Catalog reads, ”In France, where you’ll find many an epergne (rhymes with “a fern”), they fill the tiers with the finest produce and flowers of the season. But don’t be limited by tradition: you can also fill it with napkins and utensils or muffins and pastries. Easily portable and equally at home on a kitchen counter or picnic table. Oxidized steel.” Stands 25″ high. Farmer’s Market Epergne Basket, $75.

Even if you’re not getting married collecting seashells by the seashore, but especially if you are, these two bits of beachy decor could be just the DIY touch you need. Both from At West End.
I see the delicate capiz & bamboo windchime ($39) hanging in an arch, making a slight twinkling sound in the breeze as you say your vows. Beautiful on your deck or patio back at home, too.
The starfish garland ($29) could wind around tables, be incorporated into table runners or centerpieces, or hang just about anywhere.

A casual party favor for summer picnic-inspired weddings or backyard rehearsal dinners, our bright paper cone favors are so easy & affordable.
Customize the ribbon to suit your scheme, then fill them with sweet treats, confetti, fresh flowers (just use a water tube), or anything else you please.
Guests will smile to see one hanging from every chair.
Or let them swing in the breeze by clothes-pinning them to tree branches. Every one will know where to park & find the party.
Hang them along fences or from doorknobs.
Or, fill them with crayons, candy, toys & coloring pages for the youngest guests.
We were thrilled to see them featured on Fabulous Fun Finds this morning. Just in time for summer celebrations… Thank you, Heather!
See more custom party & wedding cones, available in our etsy shoppe.

As April nears its end, so does the bidding on Sarah of Classic Bride Blog’s vintage cake stand. Yes, the very one she used in her own genteel Mississippi wedding featured in Wedding Style Guide. “I found the vintage silverplated pedestal cakestand in a tiny antique shop outside of Charleston, SC. The cakestand features a stunning grape and leaf design along the edging, creating a beautiful fence-like effect around the cake,” Sarah says. In love? I am!
The bidding had reached an impressive $210 as I typed this post, but there is still time to bid if you have your old-fashioned heart set on this lovely vintage piece perfect for a classic white wedding. The winner is the highest bidder as of Friday, April 30th at midnight CST. While you’re on Classic Bride, be sure to read our guest blog posts. This week’s is #4 in our series of 5.

Spring is here and our etsy shop filled with custom & ready to ship wedding paper cones has been bustling!
I just finished an order for Shantala who wanted a dozen black & white cones in 6 styles to hang on a series of black doors at her wedding. I am always so interested to hear what people are doing with them. (I LOVE them in the trees.) Another order is for Heidi, whose SEVEN little flower girls (ages 2 to 7) will be carrying them. Janelle wants 16 for her Catholic wedding in an old church to hang on the heavy wooden pews.
I am so touched to be a part of all of your weddings in every way. Thank you!!!

I just learned about these shades today from Anna. (Thank you!) And my, aren’t they something? Martha, eat your heart out: Katie of June Petals is all about these tissue paper petal shades. I would love to see them strung along chairs lining the aisle, dangling in a pretty cluster above the cake, or randomly hanging to create a photo backdrop. The petals come in nine colors; each is cut & applied by hand. How can they be just $10 each? I’m still trying to figure it out. In the meantime, I think I need a pink one for the kitchen…!

When I was adding our vintage eternal bridal bouquet to the site the other day, its silk lily reminded me of these metal gold leafed lily stems I stumbled across recently. I keep returning to admire them. I always like contradiction in decoration. These, with their gilt shine and white enamel, definitely seem cool yet warm, soft yet stiff, alive yet still to me. At a towering 3 feet high, I think they would make a striking wedding centerpiece or display dropped in a tall, simple glass vase. Then scatter some antique gold jeweled candle holders nearby…
