I’ve never been too into soaps that are too pretty to use. But then again… they make some of these sculpted soaps so darn cute!
Two white turtle doves perched in a white pedestal dish, these would make a nice little addition to any registry gift.
By Gianna Rose Atelier at Cambria Cove, the intricately detailed lovebird soaps are sweetly scented with tulip and hyacinth. Their black Chinoise-style gift box comes hand-tied with a grey velvet ribbon; $35. Very sweet.
Speaking of carved soaps, have you seen our new vintage china soap dish? Pale blue with gilt from a Paragaon fine bone china saucer from England… It makes a splendid little business card holder, too.

Always a fan of “use it at the bridal shower/rehearsal dinner/wedding then use it back at home” concept, I nearly fell over when I opened the latest NapaStyle catalog to discover this jumble of vintage silverware stamped with a monogram. A 20-piece set (four place settings of a fork, knife, teaspoon, salad fork & soup spoon) of vintage monogrammed silverware, now clean, polished & perfectly mismatched into a set that’s as one of a kind as any family who uses it.
As the copy reads… “Just like your guests, each piece is one-of-a-kind, brought together by a single, elegant, unifying mark. A perfect gift for weddings, anniversaries and housewarmings, choose one initial and we’ll have it cleanly stamped on the handle of each piece. The utensils are genuine silver-plated and up to 90 years old – gathered from estate sales, vintage markets and antique stores all over the US and Europe.” Sold. I’ll photograph the full set when mine arrives so you can see! $169 for a 20-piece set. {Tip: Sign up for their newsletter & receive $10 off your first order.}
From the same company & also wedding-ready, authentic vintage utensils from the 1920s and ’30s sold as vintage silverware by the pound. Search no more for the ideal tableware for your vintage-style wedding celebration. Extra sets make splendid gifts after the big day, tied together with French ribbon & a letterpress card. Order more than one set of personalized silverware to combine your first initials with your last. Dreamy!!!

And what perfect timing.
My friend Aedriel (yes, you’ve read about her here before and can find her plates in our wedding gifts section) just introduced this most endearing plate.
On the table, on your wall, as a gift… it’s the perfect reminder to pause & give a little thanks.
Aedriel chose this quote to go with…
I’m thankful for the sea breeze that feels so good right now, and the scent of jasmine when the sun starts going down.
I’m thankful…
~Johnny Cash
You can see why I love her so much, huh?
The Grateful plate measures 8″; $20 each by Aedriel Originals.

I’m not the only one who loves the retro touch of His & Hers pillowcases propped up on a nicely made bed. Room Service Home catalog presents this 300 thread count version in a modern script font. As much as I like the look & feel of a pair of crisp cotton vintage embroidered pillowcases with a crochet edge, I have true affection for this updated version of the classic as well. Made in India, His and Hers pillowcase set, $49.
If you are in the market for the real deal, we just added this authentic pair: a Mr. & Mrs. pillowcase set for the vintage-honeymoon-style boudoir.

Far off in the land of Sydney, Australia, someone is using a knife to hand carve your names into a rubber stamp. Just to ship it off to you so you can stamp, stamp, stamp your hearts out in any color you choose.
The little carver is Riyo, who is from Japan and very talented in many ways. This stamp is one of them.
Her etsy shop, talktothesun, has many other stamps to send “best wishes” and “thank you”s among others. Wait til you see what the little ones sit inside…! Custom wedding name stamp, $38.
(For stamp pads, Color Box & Ancient page both have lots of stamp pad ink colors.)

With vintage European china very much on the brain lately, these are high on my wish list for our kitchen wall. I’m trying to decide between “love” and “live,” which both have an equally inspiring message to me.
For weddings though, how cute would these be hanging on a wall or a fence at the reception? Okay, that’s assuming your event is somewhere that would allow you to hang these in some way. But you could also display them on stands along a table before you hang them up back at home.
Your names with an ampresand in between, or “us forever,” perhaps? I’m melting! Custom lettered plates in floral designs by The Salvaged Tea Party.

This is one of my favorite new wedding gift ideas. And it happens to be made by one of my favorite people!
Orange & Blossom artist Aedriel Originals creates custom wedding plates that memorialize that gorgeous cake you spent so long designing & not nearly long enough enjoying.
She paints an original artwork version of your lovely confection on a glazed & fired ceramic plate then adds your names & wedding date in a fanciful font below. Here are the original wedding cakes that inspired these personalized wedding cake plates.
Of course, I also love the Date Night At Home Dinner Plates & Sexy Little Dessert Plates that she created just for us! Ah, a woman of many talents…

Ever sit down at the dinner table planning to keep the conversation light & casual until… yeah. It’s easy to do. Life has its conversations & not all of them are easy & carefree, unfortunately. Add planning a wedding to the mix & more than one bride and groom has claimed “loss of appetite” as a symptom of pre-wedding madness. Alas! Dinner feels a little more jovial no matter what the topic with these adorable funny face plates, inspired by the vintage Wooly Willy children’s toy. (I remember my brother & I fighting over the travel version we had for long car trips.) Available for $12 each from uncommongoods.com, the plates are supposedly meant for kids. But really, they’re heavy ceramic! Seems like adult tableware to me. They’re not your wedding registry china, to be sure. But for an uplifting boost to any meal, they cannot be topped.

Not that you wouldn’t want to plaster every wall of your home with photos from the wedding. They’re sure to be gorgeous & you’ll certainly have paid enough for each charming image. But, if a wall calls to you for something a little different to remember the day by, maybe a custom wedding poster is just the thing?
This one is from ellothereon etsy (a.k.a. the husband & wife team of Seth & Maddy). They create invitations, save the dates, & other wedding yummies like this vintage-style beach wedding poster, all on a wind-powered press. Customize the cute characters by requesting a match to your hair color, outfits, & wedding colors. If you plan in advance, you can frame & display your 11×17 print ($75 for the digital version) at the reception, too. This design is also available on wedding invitations. I’ve seen some other wedding posters to share with you too, but I wanted to started with one that is by a couple for couples. The love shows.

I spied these in the new RSH catalog and wondered if the people who have time to order & use these really need them.: ) They’re so spirited though, aren’t they?
Above: What To Do Pad, $19, and Everyday Pad, $24.
Left: Buy Contact Do Pad (on Amazon.com), $17.
Okay, back to my to-do list!…
